The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1922

DEATH of MRS. E. C. WOOD.

Anna "Lois" THOMPSON, second daughter of S. L. and Laura E. THOMPSON, was born September 14, 1891, in Liberty township, Ringgold county, Iowa, and died August 9, 1922, aged 30 years, 10 months and 26 days.

In early life she united with the M. E. church at High Point and was always willing and ready to help in the church and Sunday school.

On April 29, 1911, she was united in marriage to Edward C. WOOD. To this union four children were born - Berwin Lloyd, aged 10, Velmer Adrian aged 8, Erma pearl aged 4 and the infant son who was laid to rest in the arms of the mother.

Her entire life was spent in Liberty township, She was a cheerful disposition, always thinking of them and forgetting self. She leaves to mourn her death the sorrowing husband and three children, father, stepmother, two sisters - Mrs. P. M. ELLISON of Ellston and Muriel in the home, four brothers - Dellitt (sic) of Mount Ayr, Newell and Wilford of South Dakota and Kenneth still at home, besides a great many relatives and a host of friends, for to know her was to love her.

While we mourn because of the separation, we have great hopes of meeting in that bright and happy land where sorrows never come and parting will be no more.

Funeral services, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Alta NICHOLS, were held at High Point and the body was laid to rest in the Oliver cemetery. The large attendance and beautiful floral offerings testified to the esteem in which she was held in the community.

Card of Thanks.

We take this means of expressing to the neighbors and friends our sincere and heart-felt thanks for the kindness shown in helpful acts and expressions of sympathy on the occasion of the death and funeral of our loved own; also are we grateful to the Farmers' Union and Neighborhood Club and others for the beautiful floral tributes. For the kindness so generously bestowed we are profoundly greateful.(sic)
