TWO DEATHS TUESDAY NIGHT

Two Aged People Passed Away Tuesday Night.

BOTH WELL KNOWN

Mrs. Christina WENZEL and Mrs. Nancy Jane BLACK

Mrs. Christina WENZEL an old and highly respected resident of Grant township died last evening at her home about 8 miles south of this city. She moved to this county 27 years ago from Logan county, Illinois, and was 80 years old at the time of her death. She leaves 6 children, Jake WENZEL and Sophia, at home, John WENZEL, Arispe [Union Co. IA]; Mrs. K[endrick] D[avid] JONES [Julia Christina], Tingley; Harry WENZEL, Macksburg and Mrs. Paul STEEN of Emden, Illinois. The funeral will be held at the home at 10 o'clock on the morning of Decmeber 6th and Rev. Issac ELDER will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in Harmony Cemetery, south of the city [Creston, Union County, Iowa].

NANCY J. BLACK
Mrs. Nancy Jane BLACK, aged 85 years, wife of Alonza BLACK, died at her home at 605 South Pine street in this city last evening. She leaves a husband and two sons, W. L. BLACK of Ontario, Carlifornia and Sam BLACK of this city. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Emerson chapel and Rev. Samuel BROWN will have charge of the services.

NOTE: Christina (RITZHAUPT) WENZEL was born May 17, 1838, and died December 3, 1918. She married in 1859 to John A. WENZEL. John A. WENZEL was born in West Germany March 27, 1843, and died December 16, 1913, with interment at Harmony Cemetery near Creston, Union County, Iowa. John arrived in America at the age of 11 in 1845 with his family.
