OBITUARY - MRS. VIC WEDDLE

Funeral services were held June 9 for Angelina S. WEDDLE, prominent civic and school leader, who died unexpectedly June 7 in route to a Mount Ayr, Iowa, hospital [Ringgold County Hospital].

Mrs. WEDDLE, daughter of the late Daniel and Anna GRIZENKO, was born August 11, 1922, in a small town near Moscow, U.S.S.R. She attended high school and enrolled in the university of Kie, dropping out in her fourth year to enlist in the Soviet Nursing Corps.

She served in the corps during World War II and was taken prisoner at the seige of Stalingrad, spending almost two years in a German labor camp.

She was married to Victor WEDDLE November 22, 1945, in Munich, Germany.

In [March 19] 1952, she became a naturalized American citizen and she valued this citizenship highly. She was a much sought after speaker at civic and club meetings for several years, speaking on the differences of Americanand Russian ways of life.

At the time of her death, she was president of the Worth County R-I school district's School and Community Organization.

During the past year, she ahd devoted much of her time in promoting the passage of the school bond levy that voters approved this past April.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, John Albert, Richmond, Virginia; Daniel Hiram and Terry Max, both of the home; and one brother, Igor D. GRIZENKO, Kichinev, U.S.S.R.

Services were held in the Prugh-Dunfee funeral home, Grant City [MO], conducted by Rev. Orville RINEHART, and interment was in the Kirk cemetery [Allendale, MO].

WE WISH to extend our thanks to all neighbors, friends and relatives for the food, flowers and cards at the time of Ella's death. A very special thank you to Rev. RINEHART, Lou and Doug GOFF, the casketbearers and the ladies clubs that served dinner for the family. We have appreciated all the memorial offerings and personal calls in our home. The kindness shown to our family was very much appreciated. - Victor WEDDLE, John, Dan and Terry.
