OBITUARY - SYLVIA K. (HUNT) PARKER SANDERS WAUGH

Sylvia Kathryn (HUNT) WAUGH was born January 8, 1912, to John C. and Ethel A. (WAUGH) HUNT. She was born and spent her entire life in Worth County, Missouri. She departed this life April 28, 1993, at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital, Albany, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 20 days.

In 1929, Slyvia ws married to Samuel PARKER, who was killed in a car accident on July 4, 1937, in which Sylvia was severely injured, losing a leg. To this union were born two children, J. L. PARKER, who died May 14, 1980, and Betty BYRNS, who resides in Grant City [MO].

In 1939, Sylvia married Fred SANDERS, who died from a heart attack in 1963. She then married Elton WAUGH in 1964, who preceded her in death in 1981.

Sylvia was baptized at an early age and in later years has been very active in the Middle Fork United Methodist Church.

Sylvia was a long time member of the Irena Willing Workers Club which disbanded recently. She loved doing handwork and was very generous with it. She wrote the Irena area news for The Times-Tribune for many years.

Sylvia was preced in death by her parents, her husbands, and her son, J. L. PARKER.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty BYRNS, and her husband, Wilbur BYRNS; her three brothers, Sanford, Jubal and Jerry HUNT; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, 1993, at 10:30 a.m. at the Praugh-Dunfee Chapel in Grant City, MO. Rev. Robert McCUTCHEON and Rev. Jerry AVISE-ROUSE officiated. Interment was in the Redding Cemetery, Redding, IA.
