NOTICE of DEATH.
Mrs. H. WAUGH died last Saturday from a continued illness. Her remains were interred in the Middlefork cemetery on Monday. Rev. WOOD conducted the services.
OBITUARY.
Nancy BISHOP was born in Fulton county, Indiana, July 13, 1833, and died May 20, 1888. She was married to Harvey WAUGH in 1852. In the fall of 1854 they moved to Lucas county, Iowa. In the spring of 1855 they removed to Ringgold county, and settled in the south-west part of that county. They were among the first settlers inthat neighborhood, and had to endure all the inconveniences of a frontier life; but they endured it, and built up a good home and raised a respectable family of children. Mrs. WAUGH was a great sufferer. Her affliction was of the cancerous kind, in the mouth, but she bore it with patience, never murmuring nor complaining. She was a member of the M. E. church, an exemplary christian, a good wife, and a loving mother. All through her afflictions, the religion she professed was her comfort. A few days before her death, she sank away so that all thought her time had come to depart, and she called the family to her and gave them her parting words, but could talk but little; but said she had much she would like to say. A day or so before she died, when asked of her hope for the future, she replide (sic) that all was bright; not a thing in the way; just waiting to go when it was the will. She has left a husband and seven children, and many friends to mourn; but they do not mourn as those who have no hope. A large congregation attended her funeral services at Middlefork church [with interment at Middle Fork Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa]. -W. R. WOOD.
NOTE: Nancy's husband Harvey WAUGH died at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 29 days on January 9, 1895 with interment at Middle Fork Cemetery.
