OBITUARY.
Mrs. Rebecca N. WALL, wife of Abraham WALL, died at her home near her two sons, Joseph and John, on Sabbath, March 3rd, at 5 p.m. She had been sick for a long time, and her death was not unexpected. Mrs. WALL had reached 71 years, and her husband is now 80 years old. She united with the M. E. church at the early age of thirteen, and ever maintained a christian walk and conversation. Her religion brought her great joy and comfort. She was born in Beaver county, Pennsylvania [in 1817], and her maiden name was OWENS. She was united in marriage to Abraham WALL, in 1848, and moved to Iowa in 1850, and settled first in Wappello (sic) county, then moved to Knoxville, Marion county, where the family was brought up. The aged couple came here about five years since, in order to be near their children, who have dutifully cared for their comfort. They may expect the blessing promised in the command "Honor thy father and mother, etc." Mrs. WALL had five children, four sons and one daughter. The daughter died some years since. One son is living in Nebraska, and one in Polk county, Iowa. Her husband, to whom she has been a faithful companion, feels deeply her loss. He is feeble and feels his loneliness. The funeral took place from the M. E. church on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. and was conducted by Rev. W. B. THOMPSON [with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa].
NOTE: Rebecca was Abraham's second wife. His first wife died when they resided in Pennsylvania.
John WALL, son of Abraham and Rebecca, was born on October 15, 1843, and died on March 24, 1924 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
