OBITUARY - DORA A. VAUGHN

Dora. A. VAUGHN, Representative from Ringgold county, was born on a farm in Fairfield county, Ohio, July 14, 1872. He moved with his parents and sister to Ringgold county, Iowa, in October, 1882, and received his education in the schools of the county and attended the old Shenandoah college for one term. From early manhood he has been engaged in general farming, livestock breeding and feeding. He has held a number of township and other offices of trust, is a member of all of the branches of the I.O.O.F. Order of the Modern Woodman. He was married to Susie E. HUTCHINSON of Benton, Iowa, in January, 1901, to which union eight children were born, seven of whom are living: Perry, Lela, Orlo, Ethel, Bernice, Viona and Merle. He was elected to represent the seventh district in 1926 , a Republican in politics.

Mr. VAUGHN died in 1963 with interment at Benton Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Dora's father Edward VAUGHN was born August 25, 1932, and died February 20, 1899. Edward was a Civil War Veteran and a member of the G.A.R. Dora's mother Matidla (KRAMER) VAUGHN was born was born April 3, 1838, and died October 10, 1924. Edward and Matilda were interred at Benton Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Susie Evelyn (HUTCHINSON) VAUGHN was born March 12, 1878, and died in 1963. She was interred beside Dora at Benton Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Lela Florence (VAUGHN) CAMPBELL, daughter of Dora A. and Susie Evelyn (HUTCHINSON) VAUGHN, was born October 18, 1905, and died July 2, 1981 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. She married Donald Lloyd CAMPBELL (1905-1970).
