NOTICE of DEATH - HILDA VAN PATTEN

MOUNT AYR — Funeral services for Hilda Van PATTEN, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, at the Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m.

Memorials are to the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - HILDA (MARTIN) VAN PATTEN

Hilda Van PATTEN, 92, of Mount Ayr died November 30, 2006, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. President Clinton ALLEN of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate the service. Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Mason City. Open visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Sunday with the family present 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Hilda Van PATTEN, daughter of Laura A. (NASH) and Elmer W. MARTIN, was born November 26, 1914, in Mason City. She married Walter MAXSON and later divorced. She married Cecil McGRAW and he died in 1965. In 1967, Hilda married James Earl Van PATTEN Sr. and he died in 2001. Hilda lived in Mason City until 1936, California until 1977 where she worked in laundry and kitchen departments at a hospital, and Blockton from 1977 until moving to Mount Ayr a few years ago. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include four children, Nancy PORTER (husband Clarence ROBERTSON) of Mount Ayr, Robert Allan (wife June) MAXSON of Palmdale, Calif., and Marylyn Van PATTEN and Donald Wayne (wife Tina) MAXSON, all of Blockton; stepson James Earl (wife Norma Jean) Van PATTEN Jr. of Hatton, Wash.; four sisters, Dorothy AUCK of Wisconsin, Shirley TATUM and Evelyn PETERSON of Mason City and Ida KUEHL of Des Moines; 42 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her second and third husbands, Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Jane Marie MAXSON; son Walter David MAXSON; a brother; and three sisters.
