OBITUARY - BERTHA (SHELDEN) KING

Bertha KING, 93, of Diamond, Mo., formerly of Diagonal, died November 18, 2004, in Joplin, Mo.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Methodist Church in Diamond, Mo., and 2 p.m. Sunday, November 21, at the United Church of Diagonal. The Rev. John BERAN will officiate the service. Burial will be in Diagonal Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday until service time at the United Church of Diagonal. A memorial has been established in her name. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home in Diagonal has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. KING, daughter of Edith (WOODS) and Frank SHELDEN, was born November 17, 1911, in Diagonal. On August 19, 1933, she married Clifford KING in Diagonal. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie (wife Joyce) KING of Diamond, Mo.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

OBITUARY - BERTHA (SHELDEN) KING

Bertha B. KING, 93, Diamond, died at 3:05 a.m., November 18, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin, following a short illness.

Mrs. KING was born November 17, 1911, in Diagonal, Iowa, and moved to the Diamond area in 1992.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Diagonal Methodist Church and enjoyed writing poetry.

She married Clifford Lee KING and he preceded her in death in 1972.

She is survived by a son Ronnie KING and wife, Joyce, Diamond; two grandchildren, Jeff KING and wife Mandy, and Hayley ENGLISH and husband Patrick; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kelsey, Chesney and Emily.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Diamond Methodist Church with the Rev. Denzil THOMAS officiating.

The body will be taken to Diagonal, Iowa for burial.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from noon until 6 p.m. Friday.

Contributions in memory of Mrs. KING may be made to the Bertha KING Memorial Fund in care of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.

Arrangements under direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby, MO.
