OBITUARY - LUCY BARNHART ROACH

Lucy May BARNHART was born March 7, 1907, and departed this life to be with her heavenly Father April 5, 1993, at the age of 86 years, 28 days. A silent heart attack took her life while a resident of Clearview Nursing Home, Mount Ayr.

She was born to Cornelia (MAUDLIN) BARNHART and William Joseph BARNHART, and married Jesse ROACH May 7, 1926. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband August 21, 1976.

Seven children were born to this union: Edna BAKER of Mount Ayr; Ernest ROACH of Redding; Betty ROBERTSON of Redding; Lloyd ROACH of Kansas City; Darrel ROACH of Carlisle, Ia.; Marie CAMPBELL of Grant City [NE]; and Harvey ROACH of Mount Ayr.

She is survived by her daughters, sons, their spouses, 38 grandchildren, and other step-granchildren; a sister, Myrtle YODER of Brighton, Colo., and a brother, Henry BARNHART of Springfield, Ore.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Ephriam BARNHART, sister Alta DUNFEE, half-sister Mabel ROBERTSON and grandson Ronald ROACH.

Lucy was baptized February 3, 1918, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was always taking care of others as long as she was able and entered Clearview Home, Mount Ayr, December 6, 1988, where she received very good and loving care. She loved her family very much, loved having visitors and always added another plate for company. She had a smile for everyone.

She was dearly loved by her granchildren and friends.

She was laid to rest April 8, 1993, at Kirk Cemetery, Alldendale [MO], alongside her loving husband Jesse. Services were provided by Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home of Grant City.

Pallbearers were Bill ROBERTSON, Jim ROACH, Gary BAKER, Harvey ROACH, Jr., Everett CAMPBELL Jr. and Keven ROACH.

NOTE: Cornelia (MAUDLIN) BARNHART was born 28 Mar 1880, and died 22 Jan 1965.
