OBITUARY - JOSEPH EAROLD "JOE" HOLCOMB

June 10, 1923 - October 30, 2007

A memorial service for Joseph Earold "Joe" HOLCOMB, 84, will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Wheatland with Dennis ISENHART officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorman Funeral Homes, Platte Chapel of Wheatland.

He passed away October 31, 2007, at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.

Joe was born June 10, 1923, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the son of Lester Silas and Theresa Kathleen (SUTTON) HOLCOMB. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949. On March 11, 1951, Joe married Delores Mae OCKINGA in Torrington. He was a farmer and draftsman and retired from the Wheatland Irrigation District.

Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delores of Wheatland; a son, Donn HOLCOMB and wife Becky of Wheatland; four daughters, Susan KYLE and companion Sam GORSUCH of Gillette, Wyo., Cheri RYFF and husband Jerry of Casper, Wyo., Laurie HOLTZ and husband Ken and Teri CORDINGLY and husband Robert, all of Wheatland; nine grandchildren, Dallis and Dessa WAGNER of Gillette, Kirk RYFF of Casper, Kyle RYFF of Laramie, Kaycee and Bobijo CORDINGLY of Wheatland, Darcy VETTER and Saul OVERBY of Medford, Ore. and Issac OVERBY of Texas; three great-grandchildren, Taniesha WEST of Gillette and Kristi and Katie VETTER of Medford; three sisters, Helen BRAMMEIR and Phyllis CHALUPA of Denver, Colo. and Willa Faye WILLADSEN of Lyman, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Joyce HOLCOMB of Gering, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Randy; a sister, Dorthy ARENDS; and two brothers, Spencer and Richard.
