OBITUARY - Mrs. Z. FENDER.
Fannie DELITT, daughter of John and Mary DELITT, was born October 24, 1845, in Lancaster, Penn., and passed out of this life October 4th, 1923 at the age of seventy-seven years, eleven months and ten days.
In early childhood she moved with her parents to Mercer county, Ill., where she grew to womanhood. At the age of eighteen she was united with the Baptist church at Sugar Grove chapel, near Aledo, Ill. After moving to Iowa she united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She was always a faithful christian worker and found no sacrifice too great for the advancement of the work of her Lord. She was united in marriage to Z[achariah] Fender in the year 1867. To this union five children were born - J. Wesley and Harry E., of Mount Ayr; Jonas F., of Indianola, Iowa; Mrs. Dora BENNETT, of Mitchell, S.D.; and Mrs. Edna JOHNSON, of Letcher, S.D.
They came to Ringgold county, Iowa, in 1875, enduring many of the hardships of the early pioneers. In the fall of 1918 they moved to Tingley, Iowa, where they have since made their home.
She was always a loving and devoted wife and mother and loyal friend. Through her entire life she was always thoughtful of others, placing her duty to her church and family above her personal needs and desires. Her life was filled with her ministrations to others. She is survived by her husband, five children, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Anna E. TAYLOR, of Aledo, Ill., and two brothers, Frank DELITT, of Guthrie Center, Iowa, and John DELITT, of Aledo, Ill.

NOTE: Zachariah FENDER, husband of Fannie (DELITT), was born on February 25, 1848, and died June 18, 1925 with interment beside Fannie at Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, Ringgold County, Iowa. John Wesley FENDER, son of Fannie (DELITT) and Zachariah FENDER, died September 7, 1929 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Harry E., son of Fannie (DELITT) and Zachariah FENDER, was born in 1880 and died in 1937 with interment at Tingley Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. Jonas FENDER, son of Fannie (DELITT) and Zachariah, was born in 1872 and died in 1945, with interment at Tingley Cemetery.
