DEATH of J. CARL FARIS.

After lingering at the threshold of death for several days following a second surgical operation the death summons came to J. Carl FARIS at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines Tuesday afternoon, May 31 [1927] at 2:30 o'clock. Mr. FARIS went the the hospital about four weeks ago and submitted to an operation for septicaemia. Following the second operation he grew steadily weaker until his death.

He was a successful farmer and took active interest in community affairs in Liberty township. Mr. FARIS was born November 5, 1889, and died May 31, 1927, aged 37 years, six months and 26 days. He is survived by his wife and four children, two sons and two daughters - Wilbur, Lyndon, Mary Louise and Roberta; his mother Mrs. Anna FARIS of Mount Ayr, other near relatives and friends who are numbered by his acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 at the home in Liberty township and will be conducted by Rev. Thomas, pastor of the M.E. church at Tingley.
