DEATH of HERMAN T. ERNST
Herman T. ERNST, who was taken critically ill about three weeks ago at his home in Liberty township, and who was brought to the Willow Home in Mount Ayr in order that he might have medical treatment and proper care, passed away Saturday, January 10. Since coming to Ringgold county several years ago he had lived alone on a farm in Liberty township. He was a man of retiring disposition and little was known of him outside the immediate neighborhood where he lived. When neighbors learned of his illness arrangements were at once made to bring him to town, his condition being such that the fact was recognized recovery was doubtful. He held title to the 120 acre farm on which he lived. Little is known of his relatives. A brother visited him one day last week, returing to his home in the eastern part of the state Friday. He was born in Burlington, Iowa, August 19, 1876.
Funeral services were held yesterday (Tuesday) at two o'clock p.m. from the Rhoades undertaking parlors, being conducted by Rev. W. L. THORNBURG, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, and the interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
