OBITUARY - MARY ELLEN DUGAN

Mary Ellen DUGAN, 89, of Mount Ayr died July 3, 2008, at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Terry ROBERTS will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa in Mount Ayr. Mary Ellen DUGAN, daughter of Mary Jane (TAYLOR) and Samuel HAYES, was born April 11, 1919, in Omaha, Neb.

On March 29, 1938, she married Leland E. DUGAN in Bedford.

Mary Ellen was a homemaker, cook at Maloy Consolidated School and worked at Mount Ayr Cap Factory.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty (husband Ronald) CONLEY of Mount Ayr and Barbara (husband Frank) GOODARD of Boulder, Colo.; sons, Ed (wife Cindy) DUGAN of Mount Ayr and Mike (wife Joan) DUGAN of Diagonal; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Mildred AUSTIN of Kansas City, Mo. and brother-in-law John DUGAN of St. Joseph, Mo.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 21,1995; sisters, Anna, Dora, Martha and Marie and brothers, Levi and Clarence.
