OBITUARY - DANIEL MARION DICKEY

Daniel Marion DICKEY, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John DICKEY, was born in Harrison county, Missouri, and departed this life June 18, 1931, at the age of 67 years, three months and two days at the home near Mount Ayr, Iowa. Mr. DICKEY was united in marriage to Mary Ellen SHACKLEY on October 28, 1887, at Mount Ayr, Iowa. To this union ten children were born. Clarence, Effie and Lavon, preceding him in death. Those surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marion DICKEY; his three sons, Arthur DICKEY of Rockford, Ill., Neal DICKEY of Estherville, Iowa, Floyd DICKEY of Creston, Iowa; Four daughters, Mrs. Cecil MARSHY, Mrs. Clarence ROBERTSON and Miss Edna DICKEY, all of New Orleans, La., and Mrs. Clarence O'CONNOR of St. Paul, Minn. Besides the widow and children Mr. DICKEY leaves two brothers and five sisters and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the M.E. church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. YOUNG, and interment was in the Kellerton [Maple Row] cemetery.

NOTE: Lavon DICKEY, son of Daniel Marion and Mary Ellen (SHACKLEY), was born in 1902 and died in infancy, 1902 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. Floyd DICKEY, son of Daniel Marion and Mary Ellen (SHACKLEY), was born in 1894 and died in 1943 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery.
