OBITUARY - JAMES ROBERT DAVIS

James Robert, infant son of Geo. R. and Lettie M. DAVIS, was born in Hoxie, Kan., June 7th, 1898, and died at Benton, Ia., October 3, 1899. Mr. and Mrs. DAVIS had resided in Kansas for some time until last spring, when they decided to come back to Iowa, arriving here in the latter part of May. Little Jimmie was seemingly in good health until Thursday of last week when he was suddenly stricken with ailment, which resulted in his death. He is gone. Gone to that happy beyond, where sickness and pain are felt no more, and is now in the arms of his Savior, who said "Suffer little children to come unto me." His many little acts, his childish prattle, his short stay here and his pure little life are left in fond remembrance to his bereaved parents and relatives and should be a sweet consolation to them that he is only gone before, where all is joy, peace, and love where the chorus of the angels are "Thy will be done.

Little Darling thou has't left us,
We shall see thy form no more
We are lonely now without you
You are on that blissful shore.
Yes, you've joined the throng of angels
Where from pain and sorrow free
We will meet you some time Darling.

NOTE: James Robert DAVIS was one year, 3 months and 27 days old at the time of his death. He was interred at Benton Cemetery, Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
