OBITUARY - LEAH FLORENCE CREVELING

Leah Florence CREVELING, youngest daughter of Theodore and Della CREVELING, was born at Atwood, Kansas, November 19, 1899, and died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines at 11:30 a.m. May 1st, 1925, after a brief illness of but a few days' suffering from appendicitis. Her parents moved to Lamoni in 1900 where she spent her girlhood days, graduating from the Lamoni high school with the class of 1918. In that year her parents moved to a farm near Mount Ayr and she remained with them until 1923 when she went to Des Moines where she was employed with the Bell Telephone Company.

Florence was to have been married to Mr. Fred McMULLEN, of Des Moines, June 1st but God, in his mysterious way, called her home to be with Him. She was a beautiful young woman, loved by all who knew her, with a sunny disposition shedding rays of sunshine all about her.

There is left to mourn her passing her beloved and heart-broken parents, two brothers, Oda of Lamoni, and Bert of Mount Ayr; two sisters, Mrs. Virgie DRISKELL of Flagler, Colo., and Mrs. Gladys VIRDEN of Kellerton. One brother, Dusky, preceded her in death in 1918.

These of her immediate family, her finace and a concourse of near relatives and friends are left to question why one so young and beautiful should be cut down by the reaper in so untimely a time. But we all live with the assurance that all will be revealed when we shall meet in the sweet by and by.

For the many kindnesses shown during the illness and on the occasion of the death and funeral of our daughter and sister, and for the beautiful floral tributes we extend our sincere, heart-felt thanks.
