NOTICE of DEATH

Mrs. Emma CONINE died on the 28th of June, leaving an infant three weeks old. Her husband was arrested the day before for obtaining goods under false pretenses. She worried about it a good deal, as was natural. She had gained but little strength since the birth of her child. The day following the arrest, a preliminary examination was had at Mormontown. In the evening her husband and brothers returned from town. She was told that they had returned and would now soon know the result. She exclaimed, Oh! and almost instantly expired. We believe she was a consistant christian, and we trust she is among the ransomed. --CHIPS.

NOTE: Emma was born on April 2, 1848 and died June 27, 1882. She was interred at Blockton Cemetery, Blockton, Taylor County, Iowa.
