OBITUARY - Mrs. ELIZA ANN CAMPBELL

Eliza Ann CAMPBELL was born at Lebanon, Illinois, August 9, 1959, and passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City, February 11, 1929, aged 69 years, six months and two days. Her son, Alva, and daughter were with her at the hospital when her spirit passed.

The first four years of her childhood were spent in Illinois, and since then she has lived in Ringgold county, Iowa. On August 16, 1875, she was united in marriage to Daniel CAMPBELL, and their life together has passed fifty-three anniversaries of that date. To them were born six children, one daughter and five sons. One son, Dannie, died in infancy, and the remaining children survive their mother. Those to whom the memory of this good woman will be precious are her husband, Daniel CAMPBELL, ten years her senior; her sons, George W., of Tarkio, Mo.; Wilbur W., of Farmington, Minn.; Ike E., of Buchanan, N.D.; and Alva O. and her daughter, Zella CAMPBELL SWARTZ, of Mount Ayr. In addition to these there are in the family circle twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a host of friends will sadly miss her kindly presence.

Mrs. CAMPBELL was a member of the United Presbyterian church for many years. Her life was filled with labor to an extent which many in these days would call hardship, but she found opportunity to satisfy her love for flowers and to practice an unusual degree the virture of hospitality. "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." She has entered in that rest.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the United Presbyterian church, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. S. GLADFELTER, assisted by Rev. E. S. MENOHER of the M. E. church and burial was in Rose Hill cemtery [Mount Ayr].
