NOTICE of DEATH.

Glen L. CALDWELL was born April 16, 1912 near Mount Ayr, IA to David H. and Luella (GRAHAM) CALDWELL and died February 19, 1997 at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center where he had resided for two months.

He was united in marriage to Velma M. SWEENEY on Feb 18, 1932 at Grant City, MO. They were privileged to have 65 years together. To this union were born three daughters.

Glen lived all his life in Ringgold County except for one year in Oregon. Farming was his main occupation in life. He also ran his own trucking business for a number of years and drove a Mount Ayr school bus for 14 years. He dearly enjoyed a good joke and receiving funny cards from family and friends. He also loved a good Pitch game and enjoyed playing at the congregate meal site and with his special buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Burr and Clyde CALDWELL; three sisters, Bertha (SHIELDS) HOOVER, Elsie RICHARDSON, and Irma SMITH and a son-in-law, Jim KIMBLE.

Surviving are his wife, 3 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, nine grandchildren, and 12 very special great-grandchildren to whom he loved telling stories from the olden days.

Funeral services were held at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on February 22, 1997.

Officiating was Rev Victor BOLINGER. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, IA.
