The Mount Ayr Community high school class of 1949 held their 63rd anniversary of their graduation Friday evening May 25, at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. Much reminiscing was enjoyed along with picture taking.
The meal was prepared and served by Sue BECK and Kathy MYERS.
Out of town guests were Jim MAHAN of Leon, Elbert IRVING of Afton, Harold COOPER and wife Phyllis of Kellerton, Shirley BOOTHE SANDAGE and husband Harold of Ottumwa, and Halter PRITCHARD and wife Nola of Clarinda.
Local classmates attending were Iona BAKER TRIGGS, Norma REES CREVELING, Daryl HOLDEN, and Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP (both class members).
There was communication with Dean GRINDSTAFF, Belle SICKELS GUTHLAND, Ed BRYAN, Alma Lou GRAHAM KIDNEY, Bob and Beth RICHARDSON TOLAND and Hap and Marilyn DANHARD RICHARDS.
Plans were made to meet again next year on the Friday before Memorial Day.
