Wallace Family Reunion

The 20th annual WALLACE family reunion was held July 21 through July 24. The reunion was for relatives and descendents of the late Chester and Doris WALLACE of Benton.

Donna STRINGHAM and Mark and Penny SPENCER hosted the reunion.

The family met Thursday evening at the home of Bill and Norma STRINGHAM. Bill and Norma live on a section of the WALLACE farm in Benton. There was a wiener roast and marshmallow roast, hula hooping, visiting and the children enjoyed playing in the wading pool in the backyard.

Friday afternoon the family met at McKinley Park in Creston for walking tacos. Everyone went to the home of Ken and Donna WALTER in Afton after lunch.

The WALLACE sisters had supper at the Knotty Pine in Afton while the next generation had activities at the Afton park.

Saturday the family participated in Ayr Days and built and then rode on a ?oat in the parade.

Sunday everyone returned to Bill and Norma's house in Benton. Lunch was served, pictures taken and songs sung.

Sunday was Beverly REDLINGER'S birthday so there was a party for her.

A jar was passed to collect money for Angelena MADDOX who is Sam WALLACE'S nine-year-old grandchild. She is being treated for brain cancer in California.

Those in attendance were Leona BROWN and Nancy QVALE of Nevada; LeRoy BUCY of Creston; Jean BARNES of Atlantic; Tim and Mary MALLOY of Sioux City; Betty PORZUCZEK and Alyssa, Ariel and Makenzie PORZUCZEK of Wilkes-Barre, PA; Mike, Mary Ellen and Madeleine MENNETT of Akron, OH; Bill, Norma and David STRINGHAM of Benton; Donna STRINGHAM of Creston; Billie Jean STRINGHAM and Mollie WALTERS of Mount Ayr; Mark and Penny SPENCER and Brittany and Paige SITES of Bedford; Jim and Linda MADISON of Mesa, AZ; Ken and Donna WALTER and Ben and Laura WALTER of Afton and their children, Ryan, Anna, Evan and Sara COLLINS, Cody, Conner and Casey WALTER and Joe and Erin WALKUP of Afton and their daughters, Madison and Isabel, Roxanne WALTER, Mel RINNER, Jacob and Marissa WALTER, Chastity, Addy and Braeton RINNER, Brendon WALTER of Pueblo, CO; Beverly REDLINGER of Des Moines along with her family who are Kevin and Kerry SANDERS, Lucas and Christian of Des Moines, Ryan REDLINGER, Steve and Tara BARSETTI and their sons, Tyler, Tanner, Sonny and Drew, and Lisa REDLINGER and Chris MATEJSKI and their daughter, Kylie. Robert and Wanda GAITHER of Des Moines attended with their family, Zech SCOTT of Fort Carson, CO and Amanda and Danny VIZCARRA and Jaxon of Des Moines.

Friends of the family also attended.

Everyone said good bye after there was discussion about next year's reunion.
