THREE ANNIVERSARIESIt's a big anniversary celebration that the Mount Ayr United Baptist-Presbyterian Church is planning for Sunday, October 3.
The combined church is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Presbyterians in Mount Ayr, the 140th anniverasiry of the Baptists, and the seventh anniversary of the combined church which was united when a new church [located at 2342 State Highway 169, Mount Ayr] was built to replace the older church building.
There will be a special message at the regular 10 a.m. worship service and a free lunch will be served following the worship service.
At 1 p.m. there will be an anniversary ceremony where past pastors and denominational leaders will give short talks.
Among past pastors who are planning to be part of the anniversary celebration are Carmen LAMPE ZEITLER, Lowell HOUTS, Carl BEASLEY, Dorrie HANSON, Pete BRANTNER and Diana HOLLAND.
