Thursday, July 25, 1912KELLERTON BOOSTERS WERE HERE
Ten automobiles filled with boosters from Kellerton visited Leon last Thursday just before noon. The party was out advertising their big reunion which is to be held August 7, 8 and 9. The Kellerton people arrived shortly after 11 o'clock and were accompanied by the Kellerton band, a splendid musical organization. Immediately after the arrival of the party, the band began playing a concert and other boosters were soon out shaking hands with Leon friends, and distributing reunion advertising matter. The Kellerton party departed from Kellerton Thursday morning about nine o'clock, stopping first at Lamoni, then Davis City and Leon. From Leon the autoists went on to Decatur, Grand River, Beaconsfield, Ellston, Tingley, Mt. Ayr and then back home.
The Kellerton reunion promises to be the best this year that the people of that place have ever held. They are going to have good bands, fine ball games, good speaking and lots of free attractions. George W. CLARKE, republican candidate for governor, will be one of the speakers.
The ten cars and drivers were: TAYLOR GRIMES, Moline; BERT SMITH, Buick; Dr. C.M. WALKER, Cadillac; T.J. MILLER, Jackson; G.E. TURNER, Overland; JOHNNY MILLER, Ford; W.L. FRISBY, Ford; FRANK SEASHOLTZ, Overland; ALBERT MANNING, Maxwell; MINNIE MILES, Ford.
The band was formed of the following members: ARTIE ALLEN, LAWRENCE EMERSON, ORR ALLEN, HARRY MANNING, PAUL TEALE, LAWRENCE CAMPBELL, BERT SMITH, JACK SCOTT, JR., BEN SCOTT, N.B. ROBBINS, CLAUDE MCDONALD, R.L. BROWN, JACK SCOTT SR., and ERNEST CAVENDER.
Other members of the party were: L.R. TREICHLER, GRANT MCCULLOUGH, J.L. GOODING, HUGH TEALE, FRED CROSKEY, BERT WHITSON, FRANK MANNING, GEO. L. BARLOW, A.G. ABBOTT, W.L. GUSTIN, BERT BALLOU, TED HIGGINS, VES HALE, CAD MANNASMITH, Rev. CYRUS HARVEY, S.A. MILES, and Mrs. B.F. RODGER and Mrs. G.E TURNER.
