Something new under the sun has come out in the way of 'pound parties.' No money is taken at the door, but each one is required to bring a package that shall weigh not less than a pound, tied up so that its contents cannot be seen. At the close of the party, the packages are sold to the highest bidder. Of course, lots of fun results, as no one is allowed to examine his package until it is paid for, and the packages contain all sorts of articles.
