Onion sociables are becoming popular in some parts of the country. Six young ladies stand in a row, one bites a piece out of an onion and the gentlemen pay 10-cents apiece to guess who bit it. The correct guessers kiss the other five girls while unsuccessful kiss the one that bit the onion and they are the ones who get 'bit.' This is published by way of suggestion for those who get up church sociables. There can be no objection raised to the scheme as there are no blanks in the lottery.
