PAUL LEROY DAILEY

Born to George and Alverta DAILEY, September 1945, Paul DAILEY passed away August 1978 at the age of 33. In his short life, his first loves were farming, horses and hunting.

He graduated from MACHS [Mount Ayr Community High School] with the Class of 1964. He farmed with this father and then by himself on a farm north of the Goose Pond Corner. His parents moved to Diagonal and George drove a cattle truck.

Paul, in 1974 purchased from Maurice and Maxine CARR their farm three miles west of Maloy. He erected a large hay and cattle shed south of the house and he spent many hours there working with his horses. They were his prized possession since youth. He and his parents participated in Saddle Club events around the area and also raised some excellent colts to sell. His stallion named Billy was widely known.

Paul also liked to compete in calf roping events and it was while doing this, he met with the accident that took his life.

Another of Paul's hobbies was hunting coon and coyote. He liked to do this with his friends. Paul was a good friend and neighbor to have in our community [of Maloy]. He especially enjoyed his sister Nancy's children, Jason and Meggan LYNCH, who lived on a nearby farm.
