JOHN W. KINSELL

John W. KINSELL, a successful farmer of Tingley Township, located on section 6, is a native of Ohio, born in the city of Columbus, September 16, 1847, a son of John and Sophenia A. (DAYMUDE) KINSELL, natives of Virginia, of German descent. When he was four years old his parents moved to Bloomington, Illinois, where his father died in 1852, and he was reared by his widowed mother, receiving his education in the city schools. In 1874 he came to Iowa and located in Ringgold County on his present farm, which contains eighty acres of choice, well-improved land. He also owns a fine eighty-acre farm in Jefferson Township, which is used for pasture. Mr. KINSELL devotes the most of his attention to stock-raising, making a specialty of cattle, having some of the best grades.

He was married in 1878, to Isabel M. POLLOK (sic) also a native of Ohio, daughter of Alexander and Ann (WALLACE) POLLOK (sic), who removed to Illinois, where she was educated at the Monmouth Academy. They have two sons - Rex E. and Daymude E.

In politics Mr. KINSELL affiliates with the Democratic Party.

NOTE: Alexander POLLOCK was born in 1797, and died at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 14 days on November 24, 1874. Anna POLLOCK died at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 18 days on March 1, 1895. Alexander and Anna were interred at Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, Ringgold County, Iowa.

John W. KINSELL died October 11, 1909. Isabel M. "Bell" (POLLOCK) KINSELL was born November 16, 1848, and died November 23, 1923. John and Isabel were interred at Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, Ringgold County, Iowa. William KINSELL was born August 31, 1887, and died September 2, 1887 with interment at Tingley Cemetery.

Rex Emir KINSELL was born January 8, 1879, and died in 1960. Rex was a Disciples of Christ minister in Valley Junction, Polk County, Iowa, prior to the family moving to Colorado sometime before 1930. Rex's wife Nettie Belle (SNODGRASS) was born in 1872, and died in 1966. Rex and Nettie were interred at Loveland Burial Park, Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado.

Daymude E. "Day" KINSELL died at the age of 79 years on February 12, 1960, Eckert, Delta County, Colorado with interment at Delta Cemetery, Delta, Delta County, Colorado.

The 1900 Federal Census lists June, daughter of John W. and Isabel KINSELL born circa 1892, Tingley, Iowa.
