DONALD EDWIN SCHOOLEY

Former Muncie resident Donald E. Schooley, 81, died in Tempe St. Luke's Hospital, Tempe, Ariz., Friday after a brief illness.

Mr. Schooley was born in Grinnell, Iowa, and lived in the Muncie area for many years. In 1973 he retired from the Young Men's Christian Association, where he had been the custodian.

Mr. Schooley was a member of Northview Wesleyan Church before he moved to Phoenix in 1989. He had been a song evangelist for the Wesleyan churches for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Osborn (husband Raymond), Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Paul Schooley, Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Anna Mae White, Berne; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, LaVerda Schooley, died in 1988.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Northview Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel and beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
