IDA ROSEMAN BERMAN

Ida Roseman Berman, 84, of Grinnell, died November 30, 2014, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rabbi Rob Cabelli, Grinnell College. Vocalist was Melissa Berman accompanied by Wes Phillips, guitarist. Pallbearers were Dan Berman, Eric Berman, Scott Dryer, Rusty Jones, Bill Nagle, Bill Smith and Lee Ullman. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Grinnell Regional Medical Center or St. Francis Manor.

Ida was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Morris and Sylvia Ullman Roseman. She was raised in Ottumwa and was a 1948 graduate of Ottumwa High School. She attended the University of Iowa for a year and then attended Parsons College. After college, she was employed at ATT&T in Des Moines for a few years.

On June 17, 1956, she was united in marriage with Isadore Berman in Ottumwa and the couple made their home in Grinnell.

She was a member of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines, Grinnell Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, T.T.T. Society, Red Hat Club, Women's Club and several bridge clubs. She was also very active as a local representative with the FEMA-MICA Food Pantry.

Ida was a wonderful and caring mother and was totally devoted to her family. She adored her grandchildren and was always proud of their endeavors. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing bridge and socializing with family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to Florida during he winter months.

Survivors include her husband, Isadore Berman of Grinnell; one daughter, Ruth Ellen Berman of Grinnell; one son and his wife, Richard and Melissa Berman of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Ayla Magnolia, Stella Rose and Corrina Iris Berman of Grinnell; one brother, Sidney Roseman of Marshalltown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
