RONALD ANTON ERETH

Ronald Anton Ereth, 74, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 following a courageous and selfless battle with cancer.

Ron was born July 22, 1941 to Tony and Louise (Gilbert) Ereth. He attended 1st and 2nd grade in Outlook, MT before moving to Scobey, graduating with the class of 1960. Ron enlisted with the National Guard in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1966.

Ron married the love of his life, Janet Kerstein, on August 14, 1965. They had 5 children: Rhonda, Rochelle, Ryan, Robyn, and "R" Shane. From a young age, Ron's passions were farming, cars, tractors, and anything that went fast! He always enjoyed fixing and restoring cars and eventually started Ereth Repair, when he would do windshield repair when he was not farming. Whenever you were looking for Ron you would usually find him in "the shop." Ron also volunteered for many years for the Scobey City Council, Fire Department, EMS and served on community boards and committees. Later in life Ron and Janet spent many summers traveling around in their '65 Impala with good friends. Ron always enjoyed traveling, often loading up Janet and the kids in the "Mini Wini" and going to the Black Hills or Canada.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Janet; son, Ryan; brother, Les; and parents, Tony and Louise. Survivors include daughters, Rhonda of Boise, Idaho, Rochelle (Brian) of Poplar, MT; Robyn (Chuck) of Neshkoro, WI; and son, Shane (Shawna) of Billings, MT; 4 grandchildren: Steven (Regina) Tom, Rayne Trangsrud, Harlee and Gage Bert; and brother-in-law, Richard (Brenda) Kerstein of Scobey.

To honor Ron's belief that flowers are a "waste of money" he requested that everyone should just "VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!"

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Scobey Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting smithfuneralchapels.com
