BILL EARL SWINK

Bill Earl Swink, 78 of Montezuma died April 27, at Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity. Services were April 30 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Bill Earl Swink, son of John Earl and Martha Louise (Ringsaker) Swink, was born Jan. 16, 1935 in Montezuma.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Marlene Draughn on March 25, 1956 in Barnes City. Bill was drafted by the United States Army in 1957, where he served with the Army Military Police in Germany. After he was honorably discharged in 1959, Bill worked several jobs including: Versteegh Construction, Bracken Construction, International Implement and Poweshiek County, retiring in 1997. Bill enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing and playing the guitar.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Swink; his wife, Marilyn Swink; half sisters, Pearl Long, Lucille Argo, Eunice Kelm and Verna Case and a nephew, Mark Johnson.

He is survived by his son, Bill Earl Swink Jr. and wife Deana of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren, Chandra Lamphier of Center Point, Erica Swink of Sioux City and Tasha Mayfield of Oskaloosa; his sister, Anna Marie Sturdefant of Denver, Colorado; one niece, Pat Ireland; three nephews, Terry Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Michael Johnson and many great nieces and nephews.
