CLEM FAHRNEY RITES HELD DEC. 1

Services for Clem H. Fahrney were conducted Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1, at the United Church of Deep River by the Rev. Ron Kitterman. Mrs. Verla Van Dee was the organist at the rites.

Casket bearers were Doren Dale, Quentin Rose, Walter Harbert, Res Widmer, Robert Widmer and Vaughn Hopwood. Burial was in Golden Rod Cemetery.

Mr. Fahrney died Wednesday, Nov. 28. He was 81 years old.

The son of D.T. and Nora Crone Fahrney, he was born near Deep River on Aug. 21, 1898. He attended school at Deep River. He was married to Edith Wilson in 1917. They farmed in the Deep River area and in 1938 they moved to Deep River but continued farming until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife and their family, Muriel and Grover Rosenkild of Iowa City and Maurice and Jeanette Fahrney of Mason City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Cleo Fahrney, of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clair Fahrney.

The Steffy Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
