CHAS CURRY HAD MANY FRIENDS HERE
Died Monday At Home Following Brief Illness
Funeral Services Held From Methodist Church Thursday

Services for Charles Curry, who died at his home Monday evening, were held Thursday at the Methodist church, with Rev Wyatt in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Chas Gorsuch and the following were pallbearers: Leslie Gorsuch, Chas Gorsuch, Jim Gorsuch, Clyde Gorsuch, Jim Wilcox and Harold Bushon.

Charles William Curry, son of Leonard and Penelope Curry, was born April 16, 1862, in Greene County, Ohio, and departed this life at his home six miles south of Montezuma, August 2, 1943, at the age of 81 years 3 months and 16 days. He came to Iowa with his parents in 1869 and settled in the Forest Home community where he grew to manhood. On June 24, 1888, he was united in marriage to Irene A. Gorsuch and to this union seven children were born, James of Marshalltown, Mrs. Nelle McCarty of Oskaloosa, Sammie L. of Forest Home, Joshua R. of Rahway, New Jersey, Mrs. Ada M. Draughn of Barnes City, Fred G. of Montezuma and Mrs. Vada Dalbey with whom he had made his home for the past six years. His last illness extended over the past fifteen months.

Besides his wife and seven children, he leaves sixteen grandchildren, and seven great grand-children, one sister, Lura Curry and one brother, David Curry, both of New Sharon; nephews and nieces and other relatives and a host of friends.

He has been a member of Lafayette Lodge No 52 A F and A M at Montezuma for forty-five years.
