Helen Marie McClure, 79, of Grinnell and formerly of Tama, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home in Grinnell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Keith Birch and Father Michael Mescher as concelebrants. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4-7 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama.

Helen was born on January 11, 1937 in Goodell, Iowa, the daughter of Francis John and Sophronia Ann (Fuller) McNulty. She graduated from Belmond Community High School. On May 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to Max McClure in Belmond, Iowa. Helen was previously employed as a secretary at Belmond Community School District in Belmond, Iowa and Azusa Community School District in Azusa, CA. She also worked at McClure Agri-Systems and St. Patrick Catholic Church retiring in 2005. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the CCW organization, Eucharistic Minister and minister to the sick. She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary where she was a past President, Treasurer and Trustee. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, working on the computer and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Max of Grinnell; two children, Marc McClure of Aurora, NE and Eva M. (Craig) Schroeder of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Nekola, Jamie (Brady) Friesen, Doug (Destiny) Nekola, Jonathan (Jay) McClure, Katelyn McClure and Helen McClure, Stephanie and Scott Schroeder; one sister-in-law, Jean McNulty of Des Moines. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul McNulty; one infant brother, Ivan; and one infant sister, Mary Ann. A memorial fund has been established.
