LILA B. BAYLES

Lila B. Bayles of Newton and formerly of Grinnell died Wednesday, July 21, at Heritage Care Center in Newton.

Funeral services for Lila Bayles will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, with Glen W. Oswalt of Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery in rural Grinnell.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. on Saturday for visitation; the family will be present from 1 p.m. till the time of the service.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

LILA B. BAYLES

Lila B. Bayles, 66, of Newton died Wednesday, July 21, at Heritage Manor Care Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Glen W. Oswalt of Newton officiating. Burial will be at Westfield Cemetery in rural Grinnell.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Jesse James and Alice Elizabeth (Smool) Bayles, she was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Newton. She lived her entire life in the Newton and Grinnell areas.

Survivors include four brothers and sisters-in-law, Loren Bayles, Delbert "Ray" Bayles and Glen and Sandra Bayles, all of Newton, and Harvey and Bobbi Bayles of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Bertha Chamra of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews.
