JACOB TREASE
SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Jacob J. "Jay" Trease, 81, a native of Kellogg, were held last week in Concordia Lutheran Church at Clearwater, Neb., with burial in Orchard cemetery there.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Trease, he died Feb. 2 at Keahaven Rest Home in Neligh, Neb. On Jan. 24, 1917, he was married to Mary E. Bleakney at Newton. The couple moved to the Orchard community where he spent the rest of his life. Mr. Terase was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Bernard Trease of Clearwater and Ralph of Orchard; two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Bernice) Hinze and Mrs. Lawrence (Esther) Hauf, both of Clearwater; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Harlan of Newton and Clyde and Walter, both of Kellogg. He was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Attending funeral services from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Keenan, Mrs. Iola Cooper, Mrs. Beverly Shive, Howard Clyde, Walter Trease, and Mrs. Faye Bryan all of Kellogg;; Mrs. and Mrs. Glen Phipps, James Phipps, Dale Phipps, and Dale Phipps, Jr., all of Grinnell; Fred Moore, Harlan Trease, Norman McCumber, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bleakney, and Robert Bleakney, all of Newton; Farrell Dayton of New Sharon; Bert and Curtis Phipps of Searsboro; and Bill Phipps of Geneseo, Ill.
