MRS. JOSEPH MILLER

Ruth Miller was born at Big Run, Jefferson county, Pennsylvania, June 26, 1833, where she lived until she moved to Orion, Henry county, Illinois, in 1853.

There she was married to Joseph Pierce, Nov. 13, 1855. To them ten children were born, six of whom, together with Mr. Pierce, have preceded her to the promised land.

Four live, who mourn their loss: Sherman, Jacob, Henrietta and Robert, also five grandchildren.

The first twelve years of their married life were spent in Henry county, Illinois. Then in 1867 they moved to Rock Creek township, Jasper county, Ia. to the farm where she has resided until removed by death on Nov. 24, 1915, after a lingering illness.

NOTE: Buried Our Silent City, Kellogg, Iowa. Gravestone is dated 1834-1915
