LAVERNA INNIS RITES FRIDAY

LaVerna M. Innis, 36, of Rte. 4, Grinnell, died Tuesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Grover Branson officiating. Organist will be Naomi Reeves. Pallbearers will be Ronald Anderson, Delbert Crawford, David Innis, Roger Innis, Robert K. Miller and Gilbert Schlesselman. Burial will be at Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Harold and Vetta Walker Cathey, she was born Aug. 12, 1944, at Newton. She attended Newton schools and was graduated from Newton High School in 1962.

Following her graduation, she was employed by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co. and the Vernon Co. of Newton.

On June 7, 1963, she was married to Larry L. Innis in Grinnell. The couple lived in Newton for a few months before moving to the Grinnell area. Mrs. Innis attended the Church of the Nazarene here.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Richard, Randy, Valisa and Rodney; her parents, Harold and Vetta Cathey of rural Grinnell; and one brother, Harold L. Cathey of Baltimore, Md. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Lee, who died in 1965, and twin brothers, who died in 1942.

Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Innis' name may be made to the family and left at the Smith Funeral Home.
