ELIZABETH JACK SERVICES SET

Elizabeth Jack, 87, died Saturday evening, Aug. 27, at Friendship Manor, where she had lived since early 1980.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom. Memorials in Mrs. Jack's name may be made to the special care unit at Grinnell General Hospital and left at the funeral home.

The daughter of James Paul and Elizabeth Houseman McIlrath, she was born Dec. 29, 1895, on a farm near Newburg. She attended rural schools.

On Feb. 6, 1915, she was married to Alex Jack at her parents' farm home. The couple farmed west of Gilman for three years, then in the Montezuma area until 1944 when they moved to Grinnell.

Mrs. Jack is survived by her children, Doris Edgington of Rte. 4, Grinnell, and Wilbur Jack of Rte. 2, Montezuma; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harley McILrath of Rte. 2; and four sisters, Emma Claybrook, Mabel Tharp and Ruby McIlrath, all of Grinnell; and Lucille Anthony of Rte. 2.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974; one brother, John McIlrath; and a half-sister, Sara Mauer.
