RANDY DUANE JACK

Randy Jack, 47, of Malcom died Sept. 21, 1999 of injuries received from a fall at his farm.

His funeral was Sept. 25 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. Torger Johnson, pastor of Victor United Methodist Church, officiating.

Kathy Lynch was the organist and a tape, "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong was played. Dana Vogt and Tracy Schafbuch sang, "Friends" and Holly Dunn sang "Daddy's Hands."

Casket bearers were Larry Aldridge, Glen Berry, Charley Cooper, Bill Benge, Kenny Bidwell and Kenny Jantzen.

Honorary bearers were Dan Albert, Duane McDonald, Rae Van Roekel, Mike Keith, John Sterner, Tom Harris and Bill Van Waus.

He was buried in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

The son of Lowell and Phyllis Slaymaker Jack, he was born April 1, 1952 in Belle Plaine.

He was raised in Victor and graduated from HLV High School in 1970.

Following his education, Mr. Jack worked for Kinze Manufacturing Company and later, Miracle Recreation Company before farming near Grinnell. He then worked for John Deere of Grinnell and most recently, was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator.

On Feb. 20, he married Vicki Eker. The couple made their home on a farm near Malcom.

Mr. Jack was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors are his wife, Vicki; his mother, Phyllis Jack of Victor; his children, Brian Jack of Grinnell, Kristy Baarda and her husband, Shaun o Kellogg, Stephanie Jack of Malcom and step-daughter, Katie Paulson of Malcom. Other survivors are two grandchildren, Blake and Dalton; two sisters, Diane Stowell of Victor and Dana Vogt of Marengo and three brothers, Terry and Lonnie Jack, both of Victor and Doug Jack of Grinnell.
