FLORENCE A. GERGELY

Mrs. Florence A. Gergely, 52, Route 1, Defiance, died Saturday evening in Defiance Hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Deep Rive, Iowa, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Veverka and married John Gergely on April 8, 1943. She was a former employee at Kissner's Café, Defiance, and Defiance Hospital; was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, The Bend, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, John; a daughter, Miss Joan Gergely, Toledo, and three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Cozene) Korthals, Silvis, Ill.; Mrs. Vern (Evelyn) Degen, Gulfport, FLa., and Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Boyd, Paulding. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Church, Rev. Donald Mueller officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call in the Greenisen and Tilton Funeral Home, Sherwood, where a scripture service will be held at 8 pm today.
