Pauline "Peggy" Rohrer

Pauline "Peggy" Rohrer, 80, of 5808 Beverly Rd. SW, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, in her home following a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Turner Chapel West. Burial: IOOF Cemetery, Victor. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jerry Springton will officiate.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Rex, are a daughter, Pamela J. Hester of Cedar Rapids; a son, Randall Rohrer of Ely; three grandchildren, Adam Hester, Stephanie Hester and Samuel Rohrer; and two brothers, Warren Connell and wife Lucy of Denver, Colo., and Harold Connell and wife Lynda of Wichita, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; stepmother; a daughter, Patricia Rohrer; and two brothers, Rollin and John Connell.

Pauline was born July 22, 1917, in rural Brooklyn, the daughter of Glenn and Pearl Brannian Connell. She married Rex, R. Rohrer on April 13, 1940, in Iowa City. She was a 1935 graduate of Brooklyn High School, and graduated from the Beauty School in Des Moines in 1936. She worked in Victor as a beauty operator and the Wonder Curl in Davenport. Rex and Pauline operated Roller Dromes in Cedar Rapids and Marion, and also worked at Super Skate for several years. She was a member of the Brethren Church of Brooklyn, the First Baptist Church in Newton and attended the Ladies Circle at First Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa.
