JONAS SAWYER
PASSES AWAY

Funeral services were held at Marshalltown Sunday afternoon a two o'clock for Jonas Sawyer, who passed away at his home near that city Thursday. Services were in charge of Rev. Charles O. Whitely, pastor of the Friends church. At three o'clock services were held from the Stavanger meeting house, two and a half miles south of LeGrand, where Rev. Mr. Whitely also was in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Oscar, Walter, Cecil, Amon and Orville Sawyer and Thomas Eames. Mr. Sawyer is known here in Grinnell, having lived for a number of years on a farm northeast of this city.

Those in attendance at the services from a distance were Mrs. Serena Bjosensen, Mrs. Mary Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. G. Watland, Mrs. Enos Sawyer, H.H. Fleener, Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Squire, J.B. Grinnell, Mrs. M.M. Belden, Worth Belden, Harold Dunham and Mrs. Harriet Dunham all of Grinnell; Orville and Amon Sawyer of Iowa Falls; Miss Hazel Sawyer, Mrs. Gail Shisler, Mr. and Mrs. George Hanson, E.M. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. George Bees and B.L. Wick all of Cedar Rapids.
