MARTIN SCHREIBER

The Rev. Martin K. Schreiber, 42, of 3623 Highway 63, Malcom, died of an aortic aneurysm Sunday, May 1, at his home.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcom. Graveside services were held Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, Wis.

A memorial fund has been established in his name. Contributions may be sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell.

He was the son of Karl Martin and Charlotte Tessmann Schreiber and was born Sept.4 , 1951, in Fox Lake, Wis. He was raised in Fox Lake and later lived in Randolph, Wis. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1969, and in 1973 he received a degree in business finance from White Water University, White Water, Wis.

He was married to Doris E. Mason June 3, 1972, in Beloit, Wis. The couple lived in Sharon, Wis., where he was vice president of Sharon State Bank.

He graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque and was ordained in June 1993. The family moved to the Malcom area in the summer of 1993, and he was minister of Trinity Lutheran Church there and St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Tama.

He was a charter member of the Sharon Lions Club, the Sharon Commercial Club, the Village Board for eight years, and the Environmental Dynamics Corporation. He was active in the Sharon Little League. He also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, serving as a member of the church council and as choir director.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of rural Malcom; one daughter, Kimberly; one son, Matthew; and his mother. He was preceded in death by his father.
