MARTIN EDWARD GARR

Martin "Marty" Garr, 69, died Friday, June 29, 2007. A "Celebration of Life" service for Martin Garr will be held at 1:30 .m. Tuesday, July 3, at Waukee United Methodist Church, located at 650 Ashworth Road in Waukee, with Pastor Tom C. Shinkle officiating.

The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Monday) at the church.

Born July 8, 1937, in Exline, Iowa, he lived in Grinnell and Promise City before moving to Waukee.

He worked both as a farmer and for many years at Donaldson Co. in Grinnell.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming as well as spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Pamella Swink Garr; four daughters, Andrea Fant of West Des Moines, Alana Anderson of Des Moines, Maria Sue Criswell of Titonka, Iowa, and Kathy Bailey of Grinnell; a son, Randy Gene Garr of Fenton, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Alta Mitchell of Grinnell; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.
