Robert S. (Bob) Hannay, 91, of Madison, Ind., formerly of Grinnell, died of natural causes Friday, Jan. 24, 2008, in Madison.
In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to medical research and here will be no service at this time. Interment will take place at a later date in Hazelwood Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Grinnell, the son of Robert and Delilah Hannay. He served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was married to Ethel Hannay. His profession was advertising.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Marshall, Cheri Sutherland and Robin Hershleder; one son Thomas Hannay, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel; two daughters, Phyllis Kelly and Pamela Thompson; one son, Robert D. Hannay and one brother, Eli Hannay.
