LARRY PAUL DYE

Larry Dye, 72 of Mission, TX passed away Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday evening, February 13, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Private burial services will be held in the Union Mills Cemetery with Father Ronald Hodges officiating from the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.hollandcoblefuneralhomes.com.

Larry Paul Dye, the son of Harold Dye and Mary Ruth (Davis) Routier, was born in Unionville, Missouri on September 12, 1944. He later moved to Grinnell, Iowa where he attended school. Larry was married to Irma Verspille on September 29, 1965; they were married 51 years. Larry worked at Miracle Playground Equipment, Blom and Criswell and then started his own business, Larry Dye Construction which he operated for 15 years. He retired and then moved to Missouri in 1994. He loved construction so much he built four more houses in Missouri. They spent their winters in Mission, Texas for 17 years before moving to Texas permanently.

Larry enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, camping, boating, karaoke and taking care of his cattle. He also enjoyed collecting John Wayne Memorabilia, as well as his antiques which he collected through the years. He enjoyed old time country music and dancing. Larry was a member of the Pony Express for many years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Irma of Mission, Texas; his children, Melinda Morton of Orlando, Florida, Rick Dye of Kirksville, Missouri, Chrissy (Harold) Winkelmann of Mission, Texas and Chad (Mandy) Dye of New Sharon; nine grandchildren and to step granchildren, Daniel and Bianca Morton, Cody and Clint Heyveld, Shayla and Dustin Dye, Caprice, Kennedy and Mason Dye, Christina and Nick Winkelmann; step fatherr, Lyle Routier of Grinnell; one sister; three half sisters and four half brothers and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Dye and Mary Ruth Routier and two grandchildren, Cory and Katie.
