W. G. FOX IS DEAD
~
Well Known Dry Goods Clerk Passes
Away at Grinnell of Hodgson’s
Disease
~
Will G. Fox, formerly head clerk in the Boston dry goods store in this city, died this morning in Grinnell, Ia., of what is known as Hodgson’s disease. The deceased was about 43 years of age and was married. He came here when the present firm of Bennison Bros. opened the Boston store about five years ago, and was there head clerk. He had been in employ of the firm about fourteen years, clerking a considerable time in their store at Creston, Iowa, and other places. The deceased was taken ill about three months ago, but paid but little attention at first to his trouble, but finally was examined by physicians who pronounced his disease incurable. He went to Chicago and was again examined where he was again told that nothing could be done for him when he and his wife went to Grinnell. After arriving at that place about six weeks ago he was taken in charge by Christian Scientists, and apparently grew better for a while but this relief only proved temporary. The deceased leaves besides his wife and aged father and several brothers who reside on farms bear Oelwein.
